Veg Manchurian

Manchurian is one of the famous chinese dishes, very popular in India among both kids and adults. So lets look at its recipe today!

Ingredients:
For balls:
Cabbage-1 cup(grated)
Carrot-1/2 cup(grated)
Soya sauce-1 tsp
Black pepper-¼ tsp
Salt-to taste
Corn flour-1-2 tsp
All purpose flour-2-4 tsp
Oil-to fry

For Gravy:
Garlic-1/2-1 tbsp(chopped)
Spring onion-2 tsp(chopped)
Green chilli-1 tsp(chopped)
Capsicum-1 tbsp(diced)
Soya Sauce-1 tbsp
Cornflour-1-2 tsp
Salt-to taste
Sugar-¼ tsp
Tomato ketchup-1 tsp(optional)
Oil-1 tbsp

Method:
->Take grated carrot and cabbage in a bowl and add salt. Leave aside for 5 minutes and then squeeze water out till the last drop.
-> Mix salt, black pepper powder, soya sauce, corn flour and all-purpose flour(you can adjust the amount of all-purpose flour to get the proper binding).
-> Make small balls of the mixture/dough.
-> Now heat up oil in a wok and fry these balls till golden brown.
-> Take them out on a tissue paper to remove excess oil.
-> Now heat up oil in a pan.
-> Add garlic & green chilli to it. Give it a toss(we don’t want the garlic to turn brown).
-> Add capsicum. Cook it at high flame for 2-3 minutes.
-> Now add spring onion.
-> Add 1 cup of water to it along with salt and soya sauce.
-> Now in a bowl take 1 tbsp of cornflour and about 2-3 tbsp of water. Mix it well.
-> Start adding the mixture to the pan little amount at a time till you get the right consistency of the gravy.
-> Add sugar and tomato ketchup to it and give it a boil.
-> Add balls to the gravy and give it another boil.
-> Switch off the stove.
-> Cover the pan with a lid for 10 minutes so that the balls absorb the gravy properly.

Serve it with fried rice, noodles or whatever you’d like with it! 🙂

Ingredients(for making one):

Mango pulp-of 1 mango(of your choice)
Powdered sugar-1 tbsp(the amount obviously depends upon the sweetness of the mango)
Vanilla essence-1/4 tsp(optional)
Crushed ice-1 tbsp
Milk-3/4 of a glass
Mango diced-for garnishing
Cream-1 tbsp(optional)

Method:
1) Take mango pulp, crushed ice, powdered sugar, vanilla essence and milk in a blender. Blend it for a minute.
2) Pour it in a glass, garnish it with cream and diced mango.

And what next? Just drink & enjoy 😀

Ingredients:

Paneer-200 gm
Onion-1 small
Tomato-2 small
Garlic-2 pcs
Green chilli-1 pc
Coriander powder-1 tbsp
Turmeric powder-1/2 tsp
Cumin powder-1/2 tsp
Black pepper powder-1/4 tsp
Cumin seeds-1/2 tsp
Cashew nut-1 tbsp
Kasuri methi-1/2 tsp
Oil-1 tbsp
Cream-for garnishing
Salt-to taste

Method:

Preparation:
-> Make a paste of onion, garlic and green chilli.
-> Dry roast kasuri methi and make its powder.
-> Boil tomato in water till soft, peel it off and make its puree.
-> Soak cashew nut in lukewarm water for 15-20 minutes and then make its paste
-> Cut paneer into cubes and soak it in lukewarm water to make it soft.

Cooking:
-> Heat up oil in a wok and then add cumin seeds in it.
-> Now add the onion-garlic-chilli paste. Fry for sometime(till the raw smell fades).
-> Add the dry spices(coriander powder, turmeric powder, cumin powder, black pepper powder). Fry for sometime.
-> Now add salt and tomato puree in it. Fry till it leaves oil.
-> Add cashew nut paste and cook for approx. 2 minutes.
-> Add kasur methi and cook it for a minute or two.
-> Switch off the stove.

Garnish it with cream and serve it with roti, paratha or naan! 🙂

Do you wear correct size bra??

Do you know more than 70% women wear wrong size bra? It not only affects their appearance but also their health leading to backache, poor posture and ofcourse it is doing no good to their breasts. While buying a new bra make sure you buy the one which fits you well, not so tight that your bust comes out from its side or from below, you don’t want so loose a bra too!

• 1. Cup Size (Overbust): Place the measuring tape across the fullest part of the bust. Ensure that tape is at the same level on the front and back of the body. The tape should be held tight edge to edge with no space in between. This measurement is the bust shown in the size reference chart.

• 2. Bra Size (Underbust): Lightly place the measuring tape around the underbust. Ensure that the tape is at the same level on the front and back of the body. This measurement is the underbust sizes as shown in the size reference chart.

For e.g. If the underbust is 70 cms, which means the bra size is 32(see in the chart below)and if the overbust is 87 cms, means the cup size is “C”(see in the chart below, again). Then the size of bra you should look for, must be 32C.

Kegel exercise for childbirth preparation, bladder control, vaginal tightening and what not!

Kegel exercise helps in strengthening of pelvic floor muscle. It helps in controlling bladder (when you leak few drops while sneezing, coughing or laughing), urinary incontinence (when you have strong urge to urinate and when you urinate, you urinate good amount of urine) and also helps a lot in childbirth preparation. It is also believed that it helps in tightening of vagina (even after vaginal delivery) and thus aids in having a great sex life. Every lady should do this because with age many do start facing all these problems. The best part of this exercise is that you can do it anytime, anywhere while travelling, while watching TV and the person sitting next to you don’t even know you are doing any exercise 😉
Now let’s move on to see how to do this exercise.

1) Identify your pelvic muscle. The first thing to do is to identity your pelvic muscle. For doing that, go to urinate when you have the urge for it and stop in-between urinating, the muscle that let you stop urinating in-between is the pelvic muscle.

2) The technique. Now as you’ve identified the pelvic muscle, let’s move on to the technique. Contract your pelvic muscle and try holding it for 10 seconds and then relax for another 10 seconds. Try doing 10 repetitions of it.

3) How much and some imp. points. Do 10 rep. at least thrice a day. Don’t try holding your breathe while contacting, breathe normally. Don’t try contracting your abdominal or thigh muscle, just focus on pelvic muscle. Never never and never do this exercise while emptying the bladder as it can weaken the muscle and can lead to UTI(urinary tract infection)!

So do engage in this wonderful exercise, you would definitely be benefited. 

लहरों से डर कर नौका पार नहीं होती,
कोशिश करने वालों की कभी हार नहीं होती।

नन्हीं चींटी जब दाना लेकर चलती है,
चढ़ती दीवारों पर, सौ बार फिसलती है।
मन का विश्वास रगों में साहस भरता है,
चढ़कर गिरना, गिरकर चढ़ना न अखरता है।
आख़िर उसकी मेहनत बेकार नहीं होती,
कोशिश करने वालों की कभी हार नहीं होती।

डुबकियां सिंधु में गोताखोर लगाता है,
जा जा कर खाली हाथ लौटकर आता है।
मिलते नहीं सहज ही मोती गहरे पानी में,
बढ़ता दुगना उत्साह इसी हैरानी में।

5 quick tips for smooth & rosy lips!

Who doesn’t want a smooth and rosy lips and hold-on, who can’t get it if they really want it? 😉 So read on to know more on ‘how-to’ get the lips you’ve always dreamed of!

1) Proper Food: Chapped and pale lips can be due to iron and vitamin deficiency. So first check it with your doctor if you are internally fit or not.

2) Exfoliate: Lips dead cells also need to be exfoliated. Try to brush gently your lips once you finish off brushing your teeth every morning and night. You can also scrub them once a week with sugar, vaseline and honey mixture. Also find: how to make lip scrub at home.

3) Moisturize: Keep your lips moisturized, never leave them bare. And if you have the habit of licking your lips, you better try getting out of this habit, else you’ll end up with dry and cracked lips; did I say colorless too ?! 😛

4) Night Care: Castor oil is great for lips, so is lemon juice. Apply castor oil mixed with few drops of lemon juice on your lips every night before you go to bed. You can also apply almond oil or vaseline.

5) Natural Remedy: Yes, it works! Apply a good amount of desi ghee on your naval (belly button) before going to bed, it really helps in making your lips pink over a period of time. If you don’t have desi ghee, you can use mustard oil; it is equally effective.

Get a smooth, soft and pink lips by trying these tips. And they look so sexy too, isn’t it? 😛 😉

Do you have to fight a war to make your kid eat salad? Try this one!

Kids have the tendency to run away from veggies. Then comes our role to make the food interesting for them. This salad is loosely inspired from the one I ate last time during my stay at Mumbai. It was super yum! Although, it was served warm (yeah, WARM!) but since its summer you can refrigerate it to have it cold. So let’s get down to business!

Ingredients:

Take all the veggies of your kid’s choice(suggestion-carrot, beans, capsicum, cabbage, spinach, cucumber etc)in proportion to his/her liking.
Pasta-1 tbsp
Sesame seed or flaxseed-1 tsp
Lemon juice-1 tsp
Vinegar-1/2 tsp(optional)
Salt-to taste
Olive oil-1 tbsp
Black pepper-1/2 tsp
Optional-Mayonnaise, tomato sauce(if your kid is fond of it)

Method:

-> Cut all the veggies and parboil them one by one in salted water(except cucumber, of course!). You can even steam them.
-> Strain it and dip in cold water to retain its colour and strain again(don’t throw that veg. stock, use it in other preparation, it is full of nutrients).
-> Boil pasta in salted water, strain and run through cold water.
-> In a bowl take olive oil. Add sesame seeds or flaxseed seeds(full of omega 3), salt, black pepper, lemon juice & vinegar. Mix them well.
-> Now add the veggies and pasta in it and toss well.
-> If your kid is fond of mayonnaise or tomato sauce you can add that too. I am skipping it.

Refrigerate it and serve it chilled. Even you can enjoy this salad 😉

P.S: Don’t serve it cold if you kid is sensitive to cold.

Do you re-use mineral water bottle? And do you look at the number at the bottle base?

Re-using mineral water bottle is not a good idea. They are meant for single use only. The plastic used in those bottles are “Polyethylene terephthalate” which contains “Diethylhydroxylamine”, which is potentially a cancer causing element! A small school-going girl is believed to be died of cancer in Dubai because of repeatedly drinking water in a mineral water bottle. She painted it and decorated it and used to take water to school in that bottle only. So, please avoid using it repeatedly.

The plastic identification numbers are written at the bottom of the plastic bottles so do look at these before using them in a particular way.
