Palak Paneer

Ingredients:

Paneer-200 gm
Onion-2 small
Tomato-2 medium
Garlic-5
Green chilli-2 pcs.
Coriander powder-1 tbsp
Cumin powder-1/2 tsp
Black pepper-1/2 tsp
Spinach-1 bunch
Oil-1-2 tbsp
Cumin-1/2-1 tsp
Turmeric powder-1 tsp
Salt-to taste

Method:

* Blanch spinach and make its paste.
* Make paste of tomato and chilli.
* Make another paste of onion and garlic.
* Cut paneer into cubes and dip into salted lukewarm water.
* In a wok heat oil and add cumin seeds.
* Now add paste of onion and garlic.
* Fry till light brown.
* Now add dry masalas (turmeric powder, coriander powder, cumin powder and black pepper).
* After 1-2 minutes, add tomato & chilli paste and salt.
* Cook till oil separates.
* Now add spinach and paneer with little water.
* Give it a boil.
* Switch off the stove and serve hot!

An easy-to-make raita with spinach adding to its health quotient!

Ingredients:

Spinach-1 bunch
Mint leaves(optional)-5-6 nos.
Black salt-to taste
Roasted cumin powder(jeera powder)-2 tsp
Red chilli powder-1/2 tsp
Curd-200 gm

Method:

-> Blanch spinach in salted water.
-> To retain the green colour of spinach, dip the blanched spinach in chilled water.
-> Now take out spinach from water and blend it with mint leaves in a blender or mixer.
-> Add curd, black salt, jeera powder and red chilli powder. Mix well.

Serve it as a side dish with lunch or dinner 🙂

Soya Palak

A tasty dish, high in protein and rich in iron!

Ingredients:

Soyabean-2 cups
Spinach-1 bunch
Onion-1 medium size
Tomato-1 small
Garlic-2 nos.
Ginger-1 inch
Black pepper-4 nos.
Cumin seeds-1 tsp
Oil-2 tbsp
Coriander powder-1 tbsp
Red chilli powder-1/2 tsp
Turmeric powder-1 tsp
Garam masala-1/2 tsp
Salt-to taste
Cream-Optional

Method:

-> Boil soyabean in salted water, strain.
-> Blanch spinach in salted water.
-> Now make a paste of onion, garlic, ginger, black pepper(say paste 1).
-> And another paste of blanched spinach and tomato(say paste 2).
-> Heat up oil in a wok.
-> Add cumin seeds, when it starts crackling, add paste 1, coriander powder, turmeric powder, and chilli powder. Fry till it leaves oil.
-> Now add paste 2, salt and garam masala. Fry for 2 minutes.
-> Add water and add the squeezed soybean(make sure all water is drained out of the soybean, else they will taste watery plus the gravy will not enter into them).
-> Put the lid and let it cook for another 5-7 minutes.
-> Switch off the stove and add 2 tbsp of beaten cream to it.

Serve hot with roti or rice 🙂
